EMERALD PLANET


I awoke this morning
The air felt heavy in my lungs
I looked out the window
The sky was green

I ran to the door
I saw evergreens
Everywhere trees
I was in the forest

The mist filled the ground
I walked down a path
Saw people dancing and singing
The words I did not understand

All around me was strange
Different
They grabbed me gently by the arm
And twirled me around

These were happy Men and Women
I smiled a little confused
But joy filled my heart
I started to question how I got here

The people looked into my soul
Reached into my mind
Took away my pain
Is this heaven I wondered

Maybe a dream
But I felt wonderful
As never before
Suddenly I came to realize

This place exists in all of us
I am home
There are my brothers and sisters
I am not dead but finally alive
