A SECRET PLACE

      I have a secret place
      There is no path
It is covered by green shrubs
      A cave bright with light
I go there when I want to be alone
      And gather my thoughts

Inside I have all my treasures
      My fear of heights
      Pain of loves gone passed
      The loss of children
      Here I can feel
      There is no shame

      This cave is full
      Not all is sorrow
      I have my dreams
      And joyful memories
      The spirits of
      Friends and family
My love for all the world

      Every time I come here
      I release into the walls
What life I bring with me
      The rocks remember for me
      What has gone before
      I am free again
      To start anew

      My cave where
      No one can enter
Only me and spirits of love
      I nuzzle to the wall
      Feel the cool rock
      I cherish these moments
      Sheltered from the world
      At peace
