I walked down by the creek this morning
The sun was shining
So I was a bit warm
I walked into that hidden garden
You know the one

I sat on the grass
It was a little wet
from the rains last night
I looked at the rose bush
Across from me

There is a little patch of snow at the base
And a bud bundle tight
It reminded me of you
When you first arrived
How you were unsure

It was strange for us both
That first meeting
But you opened your arms wide
And I walked in
Tentative and at home

Now I couldn't imagine being
Without you
Feeling you next to me as we sleep
Talking to you in the evening
Rubbing your feet

It isn't anything words can describe
This love I have for you
It is everything simple
A touch a smile
Just having you close

When you walk in the door
Tired from the day
I give you a hug
And feel your head against my chest
Nothing you say can tell me more

When you look up into my eyes
I feel the warmth of your heart
The depth of your soul
I am happy to be here
