REMEMBER THE SPRING

      A waterfall frozen in time
      I walk on the ice
And feel the running water beneath my feet
      Give me your hand

      I remember the spring
      When the water flowed freely
      Not winter has come
      And the water is motionless

      White snow
      Blows across the falls
      A gentle breeze
Chills as it caresses my face

      Night comes early
      And the sun is setting
      Beyond the mountain
A crack in the ice bids warning

      Solid ground not far
      Careful steps take me there
      Still the layers of ice
      Catch my eye

      Shades of blue and white
      Intertwined as the droplets
      Flow from above
      Another crack

      I step onto soiled
      Cold and hard
      I look back
      This waterfall I will remember
