ABOVE THE BEACH

Troubled winds blowing onto the shore

Across the cliffs she stares out to sea

      White, pale with time

The sands made with the passing of eons

      Stillness in his heart

Spotting her above from the beach

      Cold waves brushing on feet

Wetting the cuffs of his pants

Neither one really to aware of the other

      Just another wanderer

He walks slowly in a haze

      She stands stoic without recognition

      Emptiness shared in forgotten emotions

      Songs of wind and water

As both ignore the world around

His eyes leave her, while keeping pace with solitude

She tries to dream and to remember

Even though she has lost track of why

Alone and not feeling her body

The sea goes forward and she is nowhere
