When the street touches your heart
The wind no longer at your back
Dark skies are welcomed in the mid day
What is there to look for

The sun fails to shine
Still they walk into the black haze
Of memories lost
Distant and forgotten for a time

They return, haunting irreverent
To hopes and dreams
Solitude striking as they hide
Where do they go

Does anyone see them crying out
The pain so deep
Come into the light
No no no is their cry

I will be seen if I do
What horrors will that bring
One hand outstretched in the dark
Come with me, I will hold you, not letting go

The warmth can touch
Love can guide
Given just a little effort
The light and love show the way

Reach forward, the dawn will always come
Stars in the night
The Sun in the day
