THE RIVER BENDS


Leaving when it is not time to
Streaming thoughts
As the river flows over rock and mud
Rest your feet in its cool waters

Find the mystery hidden deep within
Whole and incomplete
Such music lies within the soul
Searching for another to share

Where the river bends a life will change
Then the rains come to expand the motion
And size of wisdom of the mind
Colors green and then clear

Turmoil of seasons as it flows
Without ice to slow it
Growth continues
Insurrection of vegetation, rebelling

Wiped clean to begin again
Touch softly the droplets of rain
As they join the river
Revel the thoughts which are shared
