A LITTLE BETTER THAN YESTERDAY


This morning I woke to the song of birds

The sounds of cars passing by

A different day with new thoughts

The sun remained just as bright


I didn�t wonder what was new

It just seemed a little better

Does it really matter why

When the light came through the window


The clouds had disappeared

My heart was lifted

A knock at the door

With surprise a friend had arrived


Smiles exchanged, with long hugs hello

Words were spoken of simple thing

Nothing complex or intricate

Life is a little better than yesterday
