BEYOND IMAGINING

      The night air very cold
The fog comes down from above
      Hovering for a time
      Then settling on the ground

      Frozen moisture gathers round
As the fog whispers to the trees
Telling tales of what is to be
Drop by drop through the night

A glistening develops as the story unfolds
      No moon to be found
Waiting for the grace of the sun
      Hour on hour

Then in a shattering of light
It rises to show the fog's gift
All the trees covered in ice
      A crystalline palace of nature

      With the warmth of morning
Comes the crackle of a slight breeze
      Awash with colors beyond imagining
Diamonds on branches from the fog's tales in the night
