SATIN BLACK

      To the night the moon
      Crosses the sky without fear
The stars play hide and seek
Against the satin black of space

      Some look up and wonder
      What lies ahead
While others reflect on what has passed
To all the wonder never leaves

      A child unknowingly asks
      Simple questions that perplex
      Philosophers throughout time
      Where have we been

      Who are we
But the child remembers to play
      Just like the stars above
      Not searching to deeply

Nor does the child become lost
      In questions without answers
Theirs is the world of magic
      Where everything is new
