MALLEABLE COURAGE


Walking down be the river
The sky turning orange and pink
With the sun diving for the last of the day
Soon the sounds of night

What turns and twists lie a head
Something is amiss as she looks around
Strange thoughts enter her imagination
Could this be real as she turns from side to side

The world she has know disappears
The sun rising and setting in seconds
People move all around her not noticing she exists
She wonders what this might be

Alternative dimension, a sense of not being
They walk through her without a thought
Then in flash of bright light all become solid and real again
Her body feels more alive

She understands that she has love to give
The pain that she held so very close is gone
Her heart is as light as a child's
In this revelation, she has become self

An identity of her own and no longer the vision of others
Colors intensify with each glance
She touches a stranger and understands him immediately
A child comes to her and smiles intensely and briefly

Such joy and completeness she has never known before
Life will not be again as it was
Her walk is strong and confident
Her world is full of happiness finally
