ON THE DANCE FLOOR

      Across the floor we move
      Delicately sliding to the rhythms
Of our bodies with the music
The lights flicker in our minds

      The longer the music plays
People around us begin to disappear
      Couples by couple slowly melding
Into the dim walls until we are alone

      The magic of your eyes
      Entices my smile
To feel and dance in one motion
Desires of being unreal and real

The polished floor sliding beneath us
Reflecting the images of color and dreams
Windows so distant with faint starlight
The moon gazing down upon us

This fascination and wonder childlike and new
We breathe each others air and essence
      Twirling with full hearted abandonment
The music stops, still the dance continues
