THE FOX

The hill soft on the eye

      I climbed to the crest

Then surveyed where I had come from

A combination of sadness and joy

      What has brought me here?

A Fox came up to me

And stood on his hind legs

      'Have you come to learn?'

      Yes I want to learn

      'Then turn a full circle.'

I see the forest and the ocean

      The Fox smiled

'Do you see love and despair?'

I see them and they hurt

'Does not love bring you joy?'

I have seen the terror of man

'When you walk among others, can you feel their hearts?'

Yes I sense them reaching out.

'Look inside you, then at the others. They are no different.'

I feel them now, there is hope.

'If you accept yourself and them, then you will find peace.'

The Fox ran into the woods

For a moment I thought I was alone

But the others came and we shared love.
