HOLD HER

      When did it happen
      Some may ask why
      When innocence is taken
      Brutal rage inflamed

      How to return that gift
The gift of youth and trust
      Then ask why
      No answers will be found

      To retaliate in what fashion
Never to be a child again
Once innocence is torn from the soul
Who will judge when all is said

Only love, hold on to her
      Embrace her close
      Give and give
      She deserves no less

      When innocence is taken away
      Hold onto her tight
Love her for there is only now
Kiss her tears through every night
