HUNTERS AND GATHERERS

      Turn down the lights
      The time is near
We gather at the appointed time
      Greetings are given
      Then she speaks softly
      Like a gentle breeze
      Caressing our minds
      Like ancient times
      We listen to the storyteller
      Weave the dreams of life
We question all that come before us
As all who share the intimacy
      There is wit and humor
Loud laughter heard on silent keys
      Time passes slowly at first
Until the rhythm reaches a high pitch
      Laura brings out the best
      In her guests
      And we challenge them
      Give us more we cry
So we can learn of this world
      The thirst for knowledge
      At the ocean of words
      This has been a new
      And wondrous experiment
      To share this community
      Of souls as never before
      Some have been hunters
Seeking truth by thinning the heard
Others are gatherers picking the ripe fruit
But like all groups we work together
      On our quest
      Who are we
      Where did we come from
      Where are we going
We come closer to the answers
      Here each night
Our adventure does not end here
We will walk the streets of the night
Our ears ready for new stories
So good-bye to new and old friends
We will meet again another time and place
