Showing the world a face
With secrets hidden beneath
Not wanting to expose

Potential lost in the coverings
How we hide in the light
Painting the masks
From person to person

Colors and hues
Fading and glowing
As we choose
To reveal and entice

Look beyond and then into
No one allows those
Places held close
To be seen

Not even the self
Will look at times
The mirror can not remove
The masks so dark
