NEVER ALONE

She stands on the edge of the cliff

      Pondering what to do next

      Life has been complicated

      She has been alone

      And the years not kind

      Before her lays the ocean

      A sunset of many colors

She can hear the waves slowly pounding

      The rocks below

Is she important to this world

      Could she have done more

      Where are the others now

      A child lost

      Friends and family gone

      She holds on to herself

      Cradles her arms about her

      Then the warmth comes back

      They surround her

      Floating all around

      With a glowing embrace

She wonders will they take her away

      Relieve the pain

      She hears the whispering

      Stay you are needed

She cries out I want to be wanted

      Still they circle

      You are wanted turn around

      See the many who have

And do need and want you

      You are not alone

      She begins to smile

Then turns back to the house

      The water caresses the shore

      Then fades into her memory

      Another day
