NIGHT WAVES

The night warm with summers quiet

The wind roaming from the west

A sliver of moonlight caressing the hillside

      A candle flickering slowly

The scent of roses filling the air

      Weakening senses with each breath

In the center of the flower bed

      The dinner table stood empty

The years have passed seemingly without notice

When was the last time we danced

      Or walked along the beach

The storms have long ago vanished

Passion has found a place in the past

      Music isnt heard anymore

      Since you left this earth

Watching the candlelight I see your eyes flickering in the night
