RACING THOUGHTS

The moon full against the blue sky
      Appearing unreal to the eye
Looming larger than life as it moved slowly
No different than any spring day

When you said the world would come crashing in
The Suns warmth filter through whispy clouds
In unfamiliar ways you looked around
To see the crowds of people as they move like a swarm

Then darkness arrives with the sound of thunder
The deeper clouds reaching to the limits of the atmosphere
Rain pounding the earth, cleaning away the past
Lightning flashes with reminders to bring it back

In the daylight not all is clear
Sometimes the Sun can be mysterious
When your mind is cluttered and you want to fall
Racing thoughts like raindrops, a never-ending stream

      When you search for calm
Still the world comes crashing in
With first a finger and then your hand
Touch a friend to bring you back
