RICHARDSON BAY

      Under the night stars

      She looks into the distance

For ship coming though the Golden Gate

The old foghorn sings its song

      They have all gone now

She feels alone by the water

      The rock beneath her hard

      Uncomfortable to sit on

It wasnt long ago she was surrounded

      By those she loved

      Many would be in despair

      But she has memories

Friends to help her through this time

For now she is satisfied to be alone

      With her thoughts and dreams

Now sounds save the gentle waves

She can see traffic across the bay

People coming to and from families

      She smiles for them

This will pass she say to herself

The cool air of fall brushes her hair

      The tears are gone

The moon setting full beyond the hills

The light ripples in the water

      She knows peace

And has the strength to move forward

      A hand touches her shoulder

      Its time to go

She has known this place since childhood

      She will never return here

It will stay in her mind

Not to be in her present

      The tears begin again

      She is not lost

      She is not sad

Just happy to be with those she loves one more time
