ROCK, TREE AND ANIMAL

      The mountain covered white

From the snow the night before

      A cry in the distance

      A wild animal hungry

The houses have not made it up here

      The land still free

      Man can only visit here

      He comes moving by day

He does not belong here anymore

      Winter takes this beautiful land

And makes it harsh on all

The aspen are bare waiting for spring

      Man has become tame

      Unnatural to this environment

      Cities are his realm now

      Lost are the old ways

Lost is the knowledge of self

      Some find their being

      While most remain selfish

      The world changes

Will man learn to become one

      With himself and others

      To commune with nature again

He may find through his imagination

      That all is living

      Everything around him

      Is part of life

      Rock, tree and animal
