ROMANCE OF THE SEASONS

      The last have fallen
      Winter is now here
      The trees show there
True form and the snows fall

There is thunder in the air
As the lightning fills the sky
      No more rain
      Snowflakes come down like parachutes

The Mountains can not be seen
Street lights blink on and off
      Confused by the shifting incandescence
      Cars slide by slowly

      People walk as if
They have never seen the white
Cover of snow on the sidewalks
Some fall to the hard ground

      Laughter rings out
      The joy of winter
      Changing crystals reflected
In the eyes of those who see

      Thundersnow, such delight
      Rare as it is
The heat of summer left behind
Dreams of nights in front of a fire

      Romance of the seasons
