SNOW DANCE

      The snowflakes falling gently
Back and forth to the street
      The city silent after midnight
The snowplows running behind in the storm

      Everyone has left for home
      No cars for blocks around
All the ground covered in a white blanket
      Slippery while walking

      We look at each other
See the smiling glint in our eyes
Our hands reach out at the same time
      We begin to dance

The only sound is the light crunch
Of the snow beneath our feet
      Slowly embracing one another
      As we embrace life

The street lamps pass by in whirl
      As we turn round
      Laughing and smiling
Snowflakes on our lips as we kiss
