THE SUN RISES

On a bench watching the sun rise
You came and sat next to me
      I didn’t know your name
      But at this moment
      I have known you forever
      We are searchers together
      The sun coming over
The horizon peeking into the sky
      Colors red and blue mixing
      I hear you sigh
      Or was that me
      I can’t tell anymore
      I turn to you
      You are gone
In a time we were one
      Now the world is
      As it always is
      Shared then alone
