TEDDY

In her hands she carries a teddy bear
It is a sign of trauma
      Of innocence lost
How long ago no one knows

She has gone back to the
      Safety of childhood
And found a way to interactive
      With those around her

She moved into her new home
      An adventure in itself
      New people and surroundings
How will she handle the world

      No tears are shed now
And she holds her little friend close
      She smiles and laughs
      Still there is trepidation

      White and fluffy
      Held in a basket
      He will not harm
      Or desert her
