THUNDER IN THE SKY

      The waves stroke the shore
Moving the sand to the south
      Slowly over the years
      Grinding each grain smaller

      Walking into the ocean
Feeling the water and sand mix
Between toes and covering your ankles
Then pulling back in quiet motion

The storm seen a hundred miles off
Building into a dark gray mass
      Lightning striking periodic
Not seeming violent but calm from afar

      The waves growing larger
With each vibration of the waters spirit
      Alive in its being
A personality developing as the swells move closer

Crashing, louder reaching further into shore
      Sinking deeper into the beach
More and more sand sliding under foot
A step back, still it comes

      Full now full of life
      The storm comes
      Lightning becomes dangerously close
      Thunder in the sky
