TIRZAH

      I lay on my back
      Head propped against the couch
I watch her as she plays
She takes a glance at me

      A smile on her face
Then she runs to the bookcase
And tosses books out of her way
      There she has found one

      She runs over to me
The book floating in her hands
      Above her head bobbing
      Then she stops

      Climbs on my chest
Turns and hands me the book
      I start to read
She looks at me like I have done something

She pulls the book and my hand in front of her
Now I can't see the book
      She expects me to read
So I shift my head slightly

      I begin to read
She bounces a bit and laughs
I try to make the voices different
      It doesn't matter to her

She is in love with the attention
I reach up and give her a tickle
She giggles and points to the book
      So I continue to read

I will remember like this always
When she could sit on my chest
I finish the book she takes it from me
And runs for another I smile at her
