TOMORROW COMES TODAY

Today was tomorrow and the sun had not risen
      The flowers still bloomed
The fog lay heavy in the dawning light
As I watched the hills begin to glow

The sun peeked above the horizon
      A crisp sound of leaves
      Bristling on the ground
Fall has come and time retreats

The wind silent as it moves incalculable object
To and from as memory fades with age
      Is this the first morning
      Where have the others gone

Not a soul to be seen or touched
Empty remnants of what might have been
      Pedals open with the light
      As dew begins to evaporate

A mix of thought and mind
      Turmoil in chaotic form
Plato's ideal lost in the reality of being
Questions of velocity, space and time

All irrelevant in the scheme of life
The pursuit of knowledge being found within
      External distractions tempered
      Today was tomorrow
