TRIAL AND ERROR

      To the night whispers come
Hovering in silence as people stir
      Keeping secrets of lost loves
      All around glances of wonder

      Where will love be found
      Searching into deep corners
      Held dark with a hush
They know it will thunder forth

Cry out when the magic flares
Not knowing whether love or lust
Time is the mantle on which to judge
If waiting and asking without action

      Nothing will happen
The game will be lost before
The beginning, open eyes and heart
The pain that comes with risk

      The rewards can be wondrous
      Not often do they come
Too many times deception from others and self
Yet not to move forward and try again

      Love must be explored
Chances are taken over and over
For some it will never happen
But then just around a street corner
