UNSEEN QUIET

      She appears in silent mystery
      What thoughts provoke no words?
Unspoken glances for those who listen
A caress of the Universe, then her presence is known

Was it sudden, or with intent
      She walked into the room
      Without entering through a door
The windows closed, she was there

      Doubt of existence, of self
Her touch was real, solid and tangible
      A dream taken form
      Without light or darkness

The silence broke into the quiet
If she moved it was not noticed
      Footsteps with no sound
Eluded memories striking deep into the mind

      Truth in words never said
      Understanding in being
She stands unseen with eyes that have known
Pain and delight, comprehension and confusion

She is all and none of us
In her silence we see her
She is the cradle of home
      The lasting memories of childhood
