WAVES

      She sits on the cliff
      Looking out over the ocean
The waves hitting the rocks below
Her feet hang over the edge

Green grass, soft under her as she dreams
The summer sun warm on her face and shoulders
She watches the waves roll in
Then turn to white as they break

      The constant crashing sound
Fills her with joy and anticipation
      She jumps to her feet
Then follows the winding path down to the beach

Running full stride she dives into the wave
Feeling the power pull her back
      Then back out to sea
The swells take her up and down

      Yelling with delight she smiles
Bubbles tingling all of her body
The taste of salt in her mouth
Twisting and twirling with the water
