As you touch soft words
In your mind
Sometimes expressing them
Other times holding them silent

A smile tells stories of happiness and pain
Can you look in the mirror and see the beauty

Fingers reach for a moment in time
When life was simpler
With age comes confusion and love
Less often given unconditionally

So often refused
